Quietly located in a Conservation Area of the Market Town of Halesworth, on an historic street filled with other interesting period cottages, Poachers Cottage is well-placed to enjoy town, countryside and coast. Halesworth offers a colourful selection of interesting independent shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants, many located in the nearby Market Place and along the pedestrianised Thoroughfare. The town is easily accessible with good road links and a station on the East Suffolk train line.
The countryside starts on your doorstep with a public footpath opposite leading off to a network of walks incorporating a circular 5 miles / 8 km walk around the local villages of Wissett and Chediston. You can also freely enjoy Halesworth's Millennium Green, the largest such area in the UK.
The coastal town of Southwold is 10 miles away with the option of renting Sandpiper beach hut, if available, which is in the same ownership as Poachers Cottage. Other attractions of the Suffolk Heritage Coast are within easy reach, as too are the RSPB Reserve at Minsmere, National Trust heathland at Dunwich Cliffs, Snape Maltings, Aldeburgh and much more. The Cathedral City of Norwich is about 25 miles away and is well worth exploring and to which there is a regular bus service from Halesworth if you prefer not to drive.
Poachers Cottage has been well modernised but retains many original beams and features. That this pretty cottage is well-loved by the owner is evident by the many thoughtful and homely touches throughout, which include framed items of interest and artwork on the walls. However, the property is not suitable for those less mobile.
